Exhibition at The Danish National Art Library: «Perhaps when I am over the hump with my present work I shall be able to write a critical essay» Part two

The assemblage entitled «Perhaps when I am over the hump with my present work I shall be able to write a critical essay» consists of three consecutive exhibitions in two display cases in the main hall of the Danish National Art Library – organized by Guattary Reading Circle. The exhibitions run in the period April through July 2015. At the opening of each of the three exhibitions a talk is presented.

The assemblage series is an extension of the ongoing research by the Guattari Reading Circle of the writings of the French psychotherapist, activist and philosopher Félix Guattari.

The second exhibition takes as its theme «The Diagnosed Body». It includes photocopied excerpts of texts by Félix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze & Félix Guattari regarding issues of schizophrenia and institutional psychiatry. These texts have all been studied in the reading sessions of the Guattari Reading Circle.

The text material is presented alongside a sculpture by Nina Wengel; works on paper by Signe Kryger Hansen and a framed double-sided work on paper by Ovartaci.

As part of the opening, it is a great pleasure to announce the talk Deterritorializing the Diagnosed Body: toward an expressive model of the mind by Kasper Levin

The opening takes place Friday, May 29 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Exhibition period 29 May – 25 June 2015.
